When a person receives Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, they are automatically adopted into the family of God. Followers of the Lord Jesus are taught to be the most inclusive people. "For there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus." - Galatians 3:28
At Heritage Alliance, we believe that our identity is not to be found in our gender, our work, our marital status or ethnicity or even age. Our identity is always to be first and foremost in Christ. As members of Christ's body, the church, we embrace each person's uniqueness and abilities to contribute to the mission of the Church Universal (all churches that ascribe to the Apostle's Creed), which is the spreading of the gospel and being God's family in caring for one another.
Our worship service is inter-generational, meaning that we all meet together, infants included, to participate in worship and service as a family. We believe that segregating people by age or gender diminishes human experience. Learning to be together, teaching children and adults how to interact with people of all ages, is a necessary part of spiritual formation. It is counter to typical church programming, but studies are showing that segregating children and adults leads to a higher drop out rate among young people. This is largely due to the fact that youth are often entertained rather than discipled, and not truly confronted with the gospel and its call to love one another.
Age appropriate classes are offered during the Discipleship Hour after worship service concludes.
