The New Testament gives a two-fold pattern for effective ministry.
large gatherings for worship and celebrations
small groups / cells for edification, evangelism and discipleship.
As a bird needs two wings to fly, so the church needs both "wings" ~ cell and celebration ~ to effectively carry out the Great Commission.
- A group of 7-15 individuals committed to five essentials:
- Community ~ Experiencing Christ in our midst. Every believer is a vessel of Christ,
and the gathering in a cell produces the ministry of Christ to each one, resulting in building
each one up in Christ.
- Winning ~ Outreach to the unchurched is done together as a group planning and implementing strategies to reach their friends for Christ.
- Leadership Development ~ Cells grow and multiply as new people are won to Christ, and as believers
become available to serve as leaders of new groups.
- Accountability ~ The members of the cell are accountable to each other. Each cell leader
is accountable to the coaching staff and pastors.
- Equipping ~ Cell members are discipled and equipped through study materials and special
event seminars designed to help each be an effective servant of Christ.
